Methinks it's less about authors who would, than who are looking for a counter-factual justification to coerce a woman into something they've infrequently been able to. It's like that SF story 'The Cold Equations' by Tom Godwin: he just wanted to be able to kill a girl and justify it.

I wonder if 'The Republic', which after spending a semester on it as a Philo major I would characterize just as you do, and 'The Life and Death of Great American Cities' aren't just a litmus test of philosophies of urban planning, but social and political policy, fear-response versus open-handedness, conservative versus 'progressive', and what have you. It'd be a great way to give some old posts more exposure, as well as the new ones.

Plus, further down the line we could put out Japanese language versions of the same posts to bring you traffic from a larger clientele.

Or even better, if you could write posts for your blog on our web service.
It'd be great if you could collaborate with us on making content for the site as a volunteer writer.

In the process, we'd be totally open to hearing input from you, like how the design on a blog page should look. You'd be an honorary member of the company.

If you're up for it, I'd really like to have you on our team.
Let’s make a wonderful blog platform together.
When it comes to attracting customers,I’m willing to go the extra mile.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you.

Yuta SugawaraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-596203844533164378.post-75668814866877268512016-01-20T10:57:32.344+09:002016-01-20T10:57:32.344+09:00500 pages in a space of a week...how I wish I coul...500 pages in a space of a week...how I wish I could keep up a reading pace like that! Mostly all good, but has cut into my 'free' time as has happened to you. Also my blogging time, as witnessed by how seldom I've been on there for the last many months. Since things are slowing down, I'm hoping to have a more active December and January, at least, on the blog, which means I anticipate reading more. Gratuitous? than something like The Boys, that's for sure, but then I'm still getting my ears wet wrt comics in general so couldn't make more of that comparison. Now you point it out I'd have to agree that the Tank busines wasn't especially subtle (perhaps unsurprisingly, given he's called Tank), It's basically a fridging, isn't it? Though with a male character, natch...

That said, I came to this off the back of a couple of books which seemed to expect me to sympathise with the main character simply because they were the main character, so even some manufactured pathos represented an improvement. With the exception that I completely loved the prison chapter (Hard time), but that's probably because I love the art of Corben and have a weak spot for prison stories... As someone who likes those kinds of comics, I found it all rather staid and safe. Well within my comfort zone as a comic reader.

I also lost patience with the book when the Nazis caught up with the Allies and the book decided to follow the mistreatment of the obvious pathos-font Tank rather than the Jewish character whose name escapes me but who had turned himself into a monster by embodying all of the Vampiric qualities that the Nazis assigned to Jews in their propaganda. Tank had obviously been set up for a fall right from the start and that undermined the impact of his actual fall.Jonathan Mhttp://ruthlessculture.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-596203844533164378.post-38407175801800508122015-06-09T18:16:03.265+09:002015-06-09T18:16:03.265+09:00It's a great cover, ain't it?
