OK, yes, maybe my patented 'dump it all in the middle and see what happens' icing technique could stand a little more refinement. It's not that's which is worrying, so much as just how shiny it all is...
Well, it really just means something like 'sprinkle', doesn't it? All of the (admittedly few) Japanese people I've spoken so about it have been completely unaware of its more, er, specialist meaning. Or at least claimed ignorance.
I'd be asking your wife how she knows, to be honest. Might lead some interesting places...
